Instagram and Another Great Giveaway!

When I started blogging, I had no idea how many blogs I would discover by using social media. I still have not mastered Facebook. At.All.
It's my summer goal!
I will log into Facebook.
I will log into Facebook.
I will log into Facebook.

While reading one of my favorite blogs last summer, I discovered Instagram

This is my Instagram profile pic! I'm with my sisters!

A screenshot of my Instagram account!

Oh, how I LOVE Instagram! I have discovered so many wonderful ideas, shared ideas, went to a meet-up and met bloggers in REAL LIFE (because of "meeting" them first on Instagram).
The first person I followed and the first person that followed me...was my best friend's 10 year old daughter! I was so grateful for a follower!!! :)
I love how many people (mostly teachers) I have discovered since then! So many ideas are shared on Instagram! It's such an easy way to share your idea and immediately receive feedback. As some have said, it's collaboration at its finest!

I have been lucky enough to participate in a few Giveaways, lately, also because of Instagram! I am currently participating in TWO! I posted here about Easy Teaching Tools So Cal Blogger Giveaway!

A Blogging Tip and a Meet-Up!

I read somewhere that when we write with pen and paper, our emotions and true self come out more. I don't know if it's true or not, but I have always been one of those people that writes out papers, then types them. Writes out important emails, then types them. I even wrote out my COMPS (test for my Masters) and then typed them! The test was on the computer, but I knew that I did my best work, writing it all out first. I *think* I like it because I can edit what I write, easier. Or, I just like the old school way-probably from keeping a Journal for so many years!
When I saw this quote, it reminded me of how I used to write.

When's the last time you wrote a letter? It has been YEARS for me! I definitely still write cards...I L.O.V.E. cards. Getting and giving.
I love how this quote reminds us how a blog post should be like a letter. I love reading blogs!
Look over to the right and down a bit. Those are some of my favorites! Reading blogs is wonderful, but meeting the authors of some amazing blogs is even better!
This past Saturday, I was able to attend the So Cal Blogger Meetup in Newport Beach, hosted by Easy Teaching Tools and Ramona Recommends. When I first saw the invitation for this on Instagram, I thought, "Oh my, I wan to go!!!" Then, of course, I thought, "No, I can't, I'll be too nervous!!!"
The meet-up was changed to the Cheesecake Factory,
still at FASHION ISLAND!
I kept thinking about the meet-up and remembering how amazing these meet-ups seem when I read about them on Instagram or on other blogs. Everyone always looks like thery are having a FANTASTIC time! Still, the nerves were doing their job! I think I waited until the last day to RSVP. But, I did. I decided it was time to do this in real life. Not, just sitting behind a computer screen!

I LOVE teaching, blogging, and creating!!!
Plus, I just kept thinking how amazing it would be to meet so many other teachers who feel the same way!
I knew I had to go! As the day got closer, the nerves subsided and I began to get super excited!!!

I also decided that I wanted to bring a little goodie bag for everyone, just as my way to say, "I'm so excited to meet you!" Just in case my nerves got the best of me! Luckily, they didn't. And the bags seemed to be a big hit!

I started with what I wanted to put in the bag...I knew I wanted to write a little card, so I knew I needed items that could turn into a cute saying! Once I started with an idea, the rest just came to me!
A fun little card that incorporated all of the goodies!

Some yummy Sweedish Fish, with my blog information!

Pointers! I used stickers that I found at JoAnns and Michaels! I attached them to straws I found at Target! I also put the stickers back to back!

I found the colored clothes pins at Michaels. I found the flower stickers at Target. I attached the sticker to the clothes pin!

I also added Starburst and a crazy straw to the bag!
This was so much fun to make! I am so glad everyone loved them!

A few other bloggers also brought some fun, little treats!

Ramona Recommends brought these perfect little cookies! So cute!!!

Teaching and Much Moore brought these little cuties!

Aunties Sweet Life brought this adorable tea!

I just love everyone's creativity!

The Cheesecake Factory was a perfect place for a Meet-Up! The staff was so nice!!!

These ladies were so sweet! Such a fun picture!

Spring Break Fun!

I had the best time last week! My sister and niece came to visit from Idaho! It was a non-stop week for me, but so much fun!

We started our week at Disneyland!
video
Oh. My. Goodness. We had so much fun!!! We went on Pirates of the Caribbean ride 5 times!!! It could have had something to do with the fact that the Indiana Jones ride (my VERY favorite) was CLOSED! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!! We were so bummed when we saw that sign. So. Bummed. I had looked up what rides that would be closed and I knew that It's a Small World would be closed, but it was a BIG surprise when we read about Indiana Jones! What?! What?! NOOOOOOOO!
So, we decided to make up for it by going on Pirates of the Caribbean. A LOT. We would walk by the line and see that it was shorter than the last time we were in it, so we would get in line again! We LOVED it!
Have you been to Disneyland? What is your favorite ride?!

Have you been to World of Color at California Adventure?? It's a MUST see!!! BUT, definitely get a Fast Pass early in the day for the evening show!!! It's the only way to see it! SOOOO AMAZING!
Aren't our matching shirts so fun?! We LOVE them!!!

So, I totally had to get this hat! Isn't it goofy?! HA!!! My sister talked me into it! I told her sometimes we have hat day at school and she said, "You have to get it! It's goofy! You know, Goofy!!!" So, I did. I love it. My students are going to love it, too!

After being at Disneyland for two days, we headed to the beach!

video

Don't you just love the beach? I do. It is just so calming. There's just something about the beach that makes you feel relaxed and care-free!

After staying at the beach for a night, we went to Hollywood the next day! And, the best way to see a new place is on a bus (van) tour! So, we did just that!

After the tour, we went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum! The ticket to the the Museum came with our tour of Hollywood! I had never been, and I must say, a lot of the celebrities looked really REAL!
video

We had such a fun Spring Break together!!! I LOVED Every. Single. Minute.

Have you had your Spring Break yet? What are you doing or what did you do? I would love to hear all about it!
Spring Break definitely makes Summer seem that much closer! Especially when the count down is definitely ON at my school!
We have
42
days
left!
Woooooooo
Hoooo!!
